Stephanie Riggs Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kahlert Funeral & Cremations - Maysville on Mar. 10, 2026.
Stephanie Jill Riggs, known affectionately as Jill by her friends and family, passed away on March 7, 2026, at the age of 53. Born on May 6, 1972, Jill's vibrant spirit and loving nature touched the lives of many around her. Her journey through life was marked by love, creativity, and a passion for the simple pleasures that make life beautiful.

Jill's legacy is carried on by her devoted husband, Brian A. Young, who stood by her side in every chapter of their life together. Her children, Aloni Hargett of Maysville and Noah Hargett of Morehead City, were the light of her life, and she took immense pride in their accomplishments and the unique individuals they have become. Her mother, Diane Williams of Maysville, will fondly remember the bond they shared and the countless memories they created together. Jill's brothers, Jamie Riggs of Chile and Brandon Armstrong of Pamlico, will continue to honor her spirit in their own lives, keeping her memory alive across continents.

The absence of Jill's laughter and warmth will be profoundly felt by her grandpuppy, Luna, whom she adored as if it were her own child. Her special aunt, Sandra Adams, along with many other family members and friends, will miss the brightness Jill brought into their lives. Jill's presence will be missed all the more keenly as she is preceded in death by her father, James Arnold Riggs, her stepfather, R. L. Williams; and her beloved nana, Doris Riggs, with whom she now rests.

Jill was a talented floral designer, known for her creative touch and extraordinary eye for beauty. Her designs were not just arrangements of flowers; they were expressions of her soul, crafted with love and meticulous attention to detail. Her colleagues and clients alike admired her work, and she left a lasting impression on the industry through her artistic contributions.

A true beach person at heart, Jill found solace in the rhythm of the waves and the warmth of the sand. Her love for the beach was only matched by her love for music, which was her escape and companion through various phases of life. She found joy in all genres, letting melodies and lyrics resonate with her in times of happiness and solace.

Family was the cornerstone of Jill's life. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, especially during beach days that combined her love for the sea with the company of her children. Her nickname, "Jill Buck," given to her by her grandmother, was a term of endearment that she embraced, and it became a testament to her enduring charm and infectious spirit.

Jill was known for her honesty and the clarity with which she expressed herself. One never had to guess where they stood with her, for she was genuine in her words and actions. Her closest friends and family were never in doubt of her love and loyalty.

Loving, creative, and interesting are words that only begin to describe the remarkable woman who was Jill. Her memory will be cherished, her absence deeply felt, and her spirit celebrated by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Stephanie Jill Riggs lived a life full of love and beauty, and her story will be told with fondness and admiration for generations to come.

A Celebration of Jill's Life will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026, 2:00 pm at Tabernacle Methodist Church in Maysville. The family will be receiving friends for a time of visitation one hour prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the church.
