Stephen Harold Bradds passed from this earth on Friday, Oct. 15, 2021, from complications related to ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.
He was born on Aug. 24, 1946, at the former Haines Hospital in Jamestown, Ohio, where he grew up and met his wife, Brenda Melvin Bradds. They were high school sweethearts and were married June 29, 1965, in Newport, Kentucky.
He was a talented man who loved being outdoors, working in his garage restoring old vehicles, woodworking and blacksmithing.
He was a loving, committed husband, dedicated father to D'Anne (Jerry) Sweet and Blaine (Tammy) Bradds; grandfather to Anthony (Kayla) Bradds, Zachary (Alyssa) Bradds, Jesse Bradds, Brittany Gibson, James Lunsford, Megan and Amber; great-grandfather to Liam Steele, Raelynn Bradds, Whitley Bradds and Xaiden Bradds. His survivors include the above listed family members as well as one sister, Bonnie (Hal) Perry; brothers Ronald (Glenna) Bradds, Jeffrey Bradds and Darren (Julie) Bradds; and several neices and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Maxine and Harold Bradds; and two sets of grandparents.
He will be sorely missed by his family as they were everything in his life.
His ashes will be laid to rest at the Union Cemetery on Taylorsville Road, Hillsboro, Ohio. The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
The Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, Hillsboro, is serving the family.
Donations may be made to the Cleveland Clinic's ALS unit, 9500 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, Ohio 44195.
