Stephen Britt Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jackman Funeral Home - Whitinsville on Jan. 2, 2026.
Whitinsville- Stephen D. Britt, 77, of the Linwood Mill Apartments, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at home. His beloved wife of 49 years, Sandra A. (LeFrancois) Britt died on December 29, 2020.

He is survived by his daughter Lisa A. Oosterman; his grandson George N. Oosterman, and his brother James R. Britt all of Uxbridge; 3 sisters, Francine Buma of Holden, Marlene Duggan of Worcester, and Colleen Briggs of Putnam, CT; several nieces, nephews, and many good friends. He was brother of the late Gary A. Britt who died in 1992.

Born in Northbridge on May 12, 1948, he was the son of Russell P. and Eleanor M. (McCallum) Britt. He was raised in Uxbridge, where he lived for many years and was educated in the Uxbridge school system. For the past three years, he had been a resident of the Linwood Mill Apartments.

Mr. Britt was employed as a custodian for the Uxbridge Public School System. He also worked for several years at the former Rico's Market and Nelmor Corp., both in Uxbridge, as well as Julio's Market in Shrewsbury. He retired in 2013.

A social man, Stephen enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was known for his honesty-you always knew where you stood with him. A country music enthusiast, he loved attending concerts at Indian Ranch and collecting music memorabilia and autographs. His family is overcome with sadness but takes comfort in knowing he has been reunited with his wife, whom he missed terribly.

The family will remember and celebrate Stephen's life privately; no services will be held. To leave a condolence message for his family, please visit www.Jackmanfuneralhomes.com
