Stephen Dennis Brodeur

Stephen D. Brodeur, age 71, passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2026, at his home in Warwick. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Leo R. Brodeur and Corinne A. (Rankin) Rebello.

After completing his university studies, Steve yearned to travel the world and joined the Peace Corps. He spent several years living in Africa, where he did highly regarded work helping to engineer rivers and bridges across the continent, before ultimately spending an extended period in Germany. Steve was an extremely talented architect and contractor who built incredible houses across Rhode Island and took immense pride in his work.

He loved the beach, spending time outdoors, and most importantly, spending time with his core group of friends-many of whom dated back to his teenage years.

Steve was the father of Renee Brodeur (husband, Mark Platsis) and the proud grandfather of two boys, River and Sebastian. He was the brother of Patrice Dupre, Scott Rebello, and the late Melia Amore and Denise Brodeur. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, as well as a longstanding group of friends all who meant the world to him.

Per his request, services will be privately held at the convenience of the family.
