Stephen Brooking

Salem- Stephen Brooking, 60, of Salem, MA passed away suddenly on March 31, 2024. Stephen grew up in Salem, a town he loved and lived in all his life. He worked as a sword fisherman in his early years, then continued his work as a dairy truck driver, lobsterman, tree service worker and masonry worker, along with many other trades throughout his lifetime. Stephen enjoyed fishing, working on cars, history, and spending time at his favorite spot, Winter Island, drinking his coffee and reading the newspaper. Stephen was a friendly and familiar face around the city of Salem. He was someone who always had a smile on his face and a story to tell. He will be dearly missed and always remembered as a wonderful father, son, and friend. Stephen was predeceased by his father, Robert Brooking, and his two brothers Peter and Bill Brooking.
He is survived by his daughter Alexandra Brooking, his mother Anne Brooking, his two nephews Sean Brooking and Daniel Martin, and his niece Debra Stevens.
Stephen requested a celebration of life be held in his honor as opposed to traditional funeral services.
