Robert W. Brooking

1970 - 2026

Robert W. Brooking, of Brownstown, passed away on the morning of February 10, 2026, at Schneck Medical Center with his family by his side. He was 55.

Bobby entered this life on April 15, 1970, to the loving parents of Robert and Janet (Stabler) Brooking. He was the older brother to Marcella. He grew up in Leesville and was a graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School. After graduation, Bobby decided to go and serve in the US Navy. He served on the USS Nimitz for 6 years. He would have served another 6 years if the Navy had let him off the ship.

After serving in the Navy, he began working maintenance for local factories, including NIKKOL Aluminum and Nippon Steel.

On August 8, 2014, at New Life Missionary Baptist Church, Bobby was united in marriage to Tina (Crossman) Brooking.

Bobby was an avid Star Wars fan; he would often quote movies or reference a character in his everyday life often with sarcastic wit. He was a collector of knives and guns. He would go target shoot as often as he could. Bobby took pride in teaching firearm safety to his kids and grandkids.

His memory will live on with his wife, Tina Brooking of Brownstown, sister Marcella Edwards, kids; Kaleb Brooking, Chelsea Fish, Braydon Fish and wife Abigail, Quentin Kennedy and his wife Brianna, Bryanna Sutton and husband Bryan, John McKain, Angie England and her husband Glen, Rachel McKain, and Jonathan Ritz and his wife Katelyn, and 20 claimed grandchildren.

He was preceded by his parents, a granddaughter Abbiegal England, and brother-in-law Jim Edwards.

Funeral Service will be conducted on Tuesday February 17, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Hague Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Weiler officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Brownstown.

Friends may visit on Tuesday February 17 starting at 11:00 am until time of the service at Hague Funeral Home of Medora.

There will be a bereavement meal following the service at New Life Missionary Baptist Church located at 709 West Bridge Street Brownstown, IN.
