Stephen Docquise Buchanan, 25, born on August 1, 1999, in Flint, Genesee County, Michigan, departed this life on Thursday, February 27, 2025, in Tupelo, Lee County, Mississippi. He was dearly loved and will be profoundly missed by his family and friends.
Stephen embraced life with vigor and passion. He was a devoted father to his beloved son, Saviour Buchanan, who was a source of joy and pride for him. Stephen is survived by his father, Stephen Orlando Buchanan, and his mother, Christie Lashanda Logan Manuel, who nurtured him with love and support throughout his journey.
In addition to his parents, he leaves behind siblings who cherished their bond: Christopher Nickson, his brother, and his sisters, Sondra Spencer, Rebecca (Rodney) Miller, Matika Nickson, and Abby Wilson. The connections they shared were a testament to the strength of family, and these relationships brought warmth and happiness to Stephen's life.
The services honoring Stephen will take place at Springhill Missionary Baptist Church, located at 270 Mullen Avenue, Nettleton, MS. A visitation is scheduled for Friday, March 7, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, allowing family and friends to come together in remembrance of a life that touched many. A Celebration of Life will follow on Saturday, March 8, 2025, beginning at 12:00 PM noon, where all are invited to share stories, memories, and pay tribute to Stephen's lasting legacy.
While Stephen's time with us was far too short, his spirit and the love he shared will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew him. His kindness, laughter, and youthful exuberance will be forever remembered. As we celebrate his life, we honor the impact he made during his time with us.
