Stephen Cornette Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rochette Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Jan. 5, 2026.
Stephen "Steve" Paul Cornette, 62, died unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, December 31, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Lisa (Carmolli) Cornette with whom he shared 15 years of marriage.

Steve was born in Malden, Massachusetts and was the son of Ruth M. (DeLuca) Cornette of Falmouth, MA and the late Joseph F. Cornette. He was a graduate of the Shawsheen Vocational Technical High School, graduating with a focus in HVAC.

In addition to his wife, Lisa, and his mother, Ruth, he is survived by his daughters, Jessica Ann Demyda and her husband Damon, as well as Christine L. Cornette-Martin and her husband Stephon and his step-children Dana Ann Hastings and her husband Spencer, and John Michael Barsoian, whom he loved like his own children. Steve was "Papa" to his four grandchildren: Dino, Dominic, Logan, and Colby. He is also survived by his two siblings, Joseph "Jay" Cornette and his wife Cathy, and Janice Jones and her husband Robert "Bob", as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, Stephen was predeceased by his wife, Ann M. (Gallagher) Cornette.

Steve dedicated over 35 years to proudly owning and operating SC Mechanical Services. Steve's skill, expertise, and precision earned him respect and appreciation in the construction industry. Steve had an unparalleled work ethic and the ability to solve any mechanical problem. His life was built on hard work, strong hands, and an honest heart.

Steve loved his adventures with his wife, Lisa, from trips to Canada, California wine country, hiking in Utah, Florida and Costa Rica, as well as trips to local beaches including Old Silver Beach on Cape Cod and Ogunquit, Maine, with many of his adventures on his Harley. A true "motor head," Steve had an undeniable passion for anything with a motor, showcasing his remarkable talent for fixing everything from small engines to complete motorcycle rebuilds; a retirement dream he eagerly awaited.

Much more than that, Steve will be remembered for his selflessness and willingness to help others, whether it be family, friends or someone he just met, generously sharing his vast knowledge with anyone in need. Steve was a generous, soft-spoken, funny gentleman. He was always kind and genuinely down-to-earth. His hearty, unmistakable laugh will forever echo in our hearts. Above all, he treasured moments at home, playing card games and watching car shows, joyfully surrounded by his children and grandchildren.

At the request of Steve's family, a celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Steve's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, which Steve donated to faithfully for decades, by visiting https://www.stjude.org/ and clicking "Donate Now."

I am Christine's Father in law,my Wife Cassandra and I had the privilege of witnessing the marriage of this beautiful Angel to my Son Stephon at which time I met her Father sharing automotive conversation. He truly was devoted to his passion with cars and motorcycles which I'm also very familiar. It's a terrible loss of a person with such a huge heart and so many talents he offered the world. May God receive him and allow him to reunite with those gone before him.

Steve was the most kindest and generous person I knew. He was such a great problem solver and would strive to do the very best at whatever he did and would never say 'no'. You could call him and he would be right there for you. You will be missed by everyone who knew you buddy!
