Stephen Daggett Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Boone Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Feb. 7, 2026.
Stephen Franklin Daggett, 80, of Todd, North Carolina, passed away suddenly at his home on February 1, 2026.

Born on April 28, 1945, in Haverhill, Massachusetts, Steve was the son of the late Charles Edison Daggett and Anna Mae Daggett.

A man who truly found his freedom in the clouds, Steve spent his career as a corporate jet pilot. His passion for flying and traveling took him all across the United States. Upon his retirement, he lived in Hobe Sound, Florida, before eventually finding his home in the mountains of North Carolina five years ago.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Joyce Neyland of Todd; his stepdaughter, Lisa DeLaurentiis, and her partner, David Fitzpatrick, also of Todd.

Steve is also survived by his four siblings: Christina (Tina) Woods and her husband Barry of Florida, Linda Gordon and her husband Ronald of Florida, Charles Daggett of New Hampshire, and John (Jay) Daggett of New Hampshire.

Steve will also be greatly missed by his loyal sidekick, Mr. Bobbles, who could almost always be found right on his lap.

Known for his adventurous spirit and love for the open sky, Steve will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the many colleagues he met throughout his years in aviation.

No formal services are planned at this time.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your local animal rescue in memory of Stephen Daggett and all of the four-legged family members he loved so dearly throughout his life.
