Stephen Demshick Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hardwick Funeral Home, Inc. on Mar. 18, 2026.
North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Stephen C. Demshick of North Myrtle Beach, SC on Friday, March 13th, 2026, surrounded by family. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and steadfast friend, who left this world after a courageous year-long battle with cancer.

He was a man defined by his unwavering work ethic, spending his life providing for and supporting those he loved most. Through every challenge, he remained strong, selfless, and deeply committed to his family. His presence was a constant source of comfort, guidance, and quiet strength. He was an Auxiliary member of the American Legion Post #960 of Fairless Hills, PA and Post VFW #253 of Elsinboro, NJ. He had a long career as Vice President for several office equipment companies. After leaving the corporate world, he opened Cindy's Café in honor of his late wife. Steve then relocated to Elsinboro on the Delaware River where he bartended at the VFW.

In later years, he found a special kind of peace after moving closer to the water-a place that brought him joy and tranquility. Whether it was sitting by the shore with a drink in hand, listening to the waves, or simply soaking in the moment, the beach became his sanctuary.

He cherished the simple, meaningful things in life: playing games, sharing laughter, and creating lasting memories with family and friends. Those moments-filled with warmth, humor, and love-are the legacy he leaves behind.

Above all, he will be remembered for his deep love for his family. As a husband, he was a partner in every sense-loyal, caring, and devoted. As a father, he was a role model and a source of endless pride and encouragement.

Though he is no longer with us, his spirit lives on in the lives he touched, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave so freely. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Son of the late Stephen C. and Mary (Cann) Demshick and brother of the late Jack Demshick. Stephen is survived by his loving wife Brenda Demshick and siblings Patricia Gilmore (Dan), Jeff Demshick (Chris) and Mark Demshick. Children Kelly Etier (Dave), Freddie Demshick (Ruth), Tricia Demshick and James Demshick (Liuda). Stepchildren Joshua Harned and Alexis Goodwin (Dustin). He was Gak Gak to nine grandkids and Grandude to one.

A celebration of his life will be held with close family and friends, honoring the remarkable man he was and the beautiful memories he leaves behind. Please sign Mr. Demshick's online guestbook at hardwickfuneralhome.com or call Hardwick Funeral Home at 843-756-7001 for further information.
