Stephen Dolman Obituary

Stephen H. Dolman, 77, of Manchester, died suddenly on August 14, 2025 at the Elliot Hospital after a brief period of declining health.

He was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 2, 1948 to Ben and Rose (Kaplan) Dolman. He earned a bachelor's degree from Windham College in Putney, VT and lived in Manchester for most of his life.

Stephen was a teacher at Henry Wilson Elementary School in Manchester for thirty-nine years. He also served the City of Manchester as an Alderman and School Board Member.

He was a member of Temple Adath Yeshurun in Manchester where he served as principal and Hebrew School teacher. He was an avid sports fan and had coached basketball in the Manchester School District and throughout New England. He was also the director of the Fun in the Sun program and acted at the Palace Theater, both in Manchester.

Stephen was predeceased by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Donna Lenz-Dolman; three children, Joshua Dolman, Caleb Dolman and Alea Dolman; two siblings, Pauline Randall and Harriet Fettner; one uncle, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends he considered family.

SERVICES: Calling hours are Tuesday (8/19) from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester. A cemetery service is Wednesday (8/20) at 10 a.m. at Manchester Hebrew Cemetery, 245 So. Beech St., Manchester.

There are those who say that they care and then there are those whose actions demonstrate that they care. Steve was always a man of action who had a profound impact on me at a time when I needed it most. He never stopped caring and I am forever grateful for all that he did for me. He was great man.
