SWANSBORO - Stephen Richard Drew, 75, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2025. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 24, 2025 at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery Rev. Brian Young officiating.
Mr. Drew was born in New York, NY on November 8,1949 to the late Richard John and Stephanie Beresko Drew.
Steve was a veteran of the United States Air Force. After his service to our country he began a career in law enforcement and retired from the Onslow County Sheriffs Department. He was a man of many talents and interest. He elevated the experience in any situation with a fact or a story. His love of bowling and golf brought him some of his closest friends and held amazing moments he cherished deeply. His dedication to his community as a law enforcement officer will have a lasting impact and touched countless lives. Most of all, he was a loving husband and father (including grand and great). We carry him in our hearts, and especially in our laughter. A true legend. Our Hero.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Sandra Hinton Drew of the home; children, Brook Nichols (Kurt) of SC, Stephanie Drew of ME, Kristen Davids (Jason) of WI, Richard John Drew (Brittany) of NC, and Savannah Drew of FL; and six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Jones Funeral Home, Swansboro Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Samaritan's Purse at 801 Bamboo Rd. Boone, NC 28607.
