Stephen Alfred Dunlap (76), of Houston, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. He was born on December 12, 1948, in Houston to Samuel Alfred Dunlap Jr. and Lulu (Lightsey) Dunlap.

Stephen is survived by his brother, Douglas Dunlap and wife Sayde of New Braunfels; nephew Justin Dunlap and wife Misti of Miles, Texas; niece Shelley Dunlap Betsworth and husband Brian of New Braunfels; aunts Joaleen Lightsey of Houston and Zianna Boudria and husband Bobby of Nacogdoches, Texas; as well as great-nephews and nieces Brayden Dunlap, Bailee Dunlap, Luke Betsworth, Brooke Betsworth, and great-great-niece Ellie Sue Dunlap. Stephen was preceded in death by his sister, Sue Dunlap Hayworth, and his husband, Thomas Hensley.

Stephen loved to travel and traveled abroad many times, enjoying many cruises with his friends. He recently returned from a cruise. He was surrounded by his loving friends and met with them weekly for food and drinks!

Stephen had varied interests. He graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Music degree in 1970, with a concentration in piano. He was a gifted musician and loved the arts. He was a veteran, serving in the Air Force. Stephen later graduated from Texas Woman's University in healthcare administration. He retired from M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in 2017, where he worked as a business analyst.

Stephen was loved by many and will be missed by all!
