What a great guy! I was shocked and saddened to hear, as we were good friends in high school.
Steve was a month older than myself and had just got that nifty little '57 T-Bird, so after class one day I asked him to drive me to Fed Mart to buy a set of weights. When we got to my home and unloaded it all, he said: "Now Kurt, when you grow up, you can do things like this with your own car!" I said: "Yeah Steve, I just hope it isn't a Ford!" He laughed as we were good buddies and always kidding around.
Another time he, aided by If I recall right his little sister, helped me out of an amusing predicament after I ended up at their family farm, but that's another story.
Happy cruising, old friend!

We never forget the people we grew up with. Steve and I went to some of grade school and all of high school together. We got together from time to time as kids. His mom, Alma, and my mom were also friends, and I knew his dad, also a Steve, a little. I spent some very fun evenings with Mary Ann and Steve ages ago when we were all young adults living in LA. Life takes its own course, and over the years we lost touch, but I am sorry to hear Steve is gone. I extend my sincerest condolences to Mary Ann and all his family.
