You may have thought of me just as your haircutter, but after all these years I considered you my friend.

Steve was my mentor at the Red Cross and later became a good friend. He made sure to keep in touch with me and my wife, Candace, after we moved to New York State. When we would come back to Jersey for a visit, he always made sure to schedule a dinner so that we could get together to share our lives. He continued that process after we moved back to Jersey last year. Candace and I looked forward to having dinner with Steve and Marie and are so happy we were able do so regularly since our return.
Steve was a wonderful, generous and thoughtful person. He spent many years serving his community in the Red Cross, often going above and beyond his regular duties. He had a wacky sense of humor and was always fun to be around.
Our deepest condolences go out to Marie and his family and friends.
