Stephen Gingras Obituary

Stephen (Steve) Paul Gingras, of Windsor Locks, passed away Friday, December 29, 2023 at his home. Born February 24,1954 in East Granby, CT, the eighth of nine children of the late Emile Gingras Sr., and Hilda (Mitchell) Gingras. Stephen proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict obtaining the rank of Sergeant. He was a proud member of American Legion Post 39 where he forged many great friendships. Anyone who knew Stephen, knew his generosity towards others. All you had to do was ask and he was there to help; yet he never asked for help for himself. Stephen retired from the Town of Simsbury Parks and Recreation Department where he took great pride in his work. You never went to Simsbury Memorial Baseball Fields while he was working when the fields weren't meticulously cared for, or the ice rink at Simsbury Farms when it wasn't smooth. Stephen is survived by his loving sisters Lillian Kullmann, Morrisville, VT, Lucille Miarecki (Stanley), LaVergne, TN, Paula Perdelwitz (Brandyn), Ft Meyers, FL, Theresa Rust (Donald), Englewood, FL; and several beloved nieces and nephews as well as longtime friends Joan Lacharite and Lee Giddings. He was predeceased by his sister's Loretta Burns (Victor), Coral Gingras, and brothers Emile Jr and Gene Gingras. A memorial service will be held in Stephen's honor in the spring. Donations in Stephen's memory can be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104. For condolences, please visit www. Carmonfuneralhome.com.
