Stephen Hanson, 68, passed away on February 24, 2026 in Fargo, ND. He was born March 1, 1957 to Roger and Margaret Hanson in Bloomington, MN.
Steve grew up in the Battle Lake area, where he graduated from Battle Lake High School. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and worked for American Crystal of Moorhead. He was an avid Red Hawks and Bison fan, with sports playing an important role in his life.
He is survived by a son, Steve of Bismarck, ND; and a step-son, Jason of Wapheton, ND; his mother, Margaret Hanson of Arizona; a brother Rick; a sister Cheryl; and a sister Gail. Steve was preceded in death by his father, Roger Hanson and his sister Karen. The family extends heartfelt thanks to all who supported Steve during his life. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Burial will be at Fargo National Cemetery, Harwood, ND
