He was born in Louisville on August 6, 1960 to the late Dorothy Hayden Hartung and William Hartung.
He worked at Ford Motor Company, retiring after 26 years. He began his recovery journey from addiction on December 4, 2019 and remained sober until his death.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Debra Schorr Hartung.
He is survived by his daughter, Ashley Hartung Hagerty (Tony); son, Baymon Hartung; sister, Chris Hartung Bowles (Pat); and grandchildren Elena and Aria Hagerty.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 26, 2025 at John Paul II Catholic Church 3539 Goldsmith Lane Louisville 40220.
Visitation will immediately follow the Mass from 12 p.m. – 6 p.m. at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home 3800 Bardstown Road 40218.
Memorial contributions may be made to Living Water International 4001 Greenbriar Drive Stafford, TX 77477.
