Stephen Hilliard, 76, of Cleveland, TN, passed away on January 24, 2025. A proud U.S. Navy veteran, Stephen was deeply passionate about many aspects of life. He loved football, hunting, fishing, and spending time in nature, particularly at Parksville Lake and the mountains of the Cherokee National Forest in Polk County, TN, a place he cherished. Stephen also enjoyed being an active member of a local gun club and loved the joy of working in his yard. For 45 years, he dedicated himself to his work at Wholesale Supply Group in Cleveland, TN, where he found purpose and pride. His love for his hometown of Polk County, TN, and its natural beauty was evident in every aspect of his life. Stephen was deeply patriotic and carried that pride with him always.
Stephen is survived by his daughter, Soni Allen (Billy); grandchildren, Casey Allen and Tyler Allen; great-grandchildren, Finnley Allen and Ripley Allen; and nephews, AJ Hilliard III and Bobby Hilliard.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Hilliard; daughter, Stephanie Hilliard; father, A.J. Hilliard; mother, Mary Hilliard; and brother, AJ Hilliard II.
The family will hold a service to celebrate Stephen's life on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Companion Funeral Home Cleveland Chapel. Visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 12:00 PM-2:00 PM. Stephen will be laid to rest at Benton Memorial Gardens.
