Survivors include his children: Patrick Muckerheide, Mark (Jennifer) Muckerheide, Sherry (Roy) Wenninger, Stephen Jansen, Jr., Melissa (Steven) Mertes; grandchildren: Jessica, Amy (Shannon), Katy, Justin (Andrea), Jeremy, Jed, Jake (Emily), Lynn (Brandon), Maggie and Petey; great-grandchildren: Jasmine, Faith, Brayden, Remi, Randy, Jr., Nathan, Addison, Rosalie, Levi and Jameson; other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Lynn Muckerheide, daughter-in-law Shari Muckerheide, brothers Peter, Jerome and James Jansen and sister Rosemary VanBeek.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 23 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery (old) at a later date.
Stephen's family would like to extend a heart-felt thank you to all the staff at The Waterford of West Bend, Marsha Hansen, PA and Dr. Vang, the nurses and all the staff at Froedtert West Bend Hospital that cared for him.

Steve married my mom, a young widow with 3 children, and raised us and provided the best they could for us.
I can't imagine jumping into a similar situation. I think I would have ran away as fast as I could.
Imagine if that was you.
Hell Dad and I talked about this as I got older and even tho our early years were tumultuous at best, I believe we learned to respect and love each other.
I respected him for his sacrifice for us.
My Dad Stephen P. Jansen is a good man who loved my family of my wife Shari, my daughters Amy, Katy, Lynn and Magz, My grandbabies Jazmine, Randy Jr., Faith, Nathan, Addison, Rosalie and Levi.
My son's in law Shannon and Brandon.
I have receipts of this in the smile of his in our pictures of all of us celebrating different events.
Heartfelt gratitude for all you have done for me and mine!
