Funeral services will be held for Stephen Patrick Jones, 54, Friday July 21, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 204 Patton Avenue Shreveport, Louisiana at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St. from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with a Rosary starting at 9:30 a.m. An inurnment will follow on Monday, July 24, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery, 402 West Admiral Doyle Drive, New Iberia, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Father Jerry Daigle, Jr.
Stephen was born March 9, 1969 to Aline Tucker Jones and Ellis Lynwood Jones in New Iberia, Louisiana and passed away Friday, July 7, 2023 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Stephen graduated with honors from New Iberia Senior High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in Geology from the University of Southwestern Louisiana. He married Jennifer Hyden in 2007. Stephen worked in the field of environmental chemistry and finally started a home painting and remodeling business with his wife, Jennifer. He served in the United States Navy Reserve, where he was assigned to a Seabee Construction Battalion.
Stephen was a loving husband and friend and was willing to help anyone in need. He helped many of his neighbors with chores around their homes. Stephen loved his dogs and would bring them to the river daily for a walk and a swim. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and clients.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Jones; three stepchildren, Melissa Randall Castro and husband, Ben, Jeffry Randall, Jr. and Jessica Randall of Shreveport, LA; his mother, Aline Tucker Barr and husband, James of Thibodeaux, LA; his brother, Joel William Jones and wife, Cindy of Manvel, TX; nephews, Keaton Jones of Texas and Tucker Jones and wife, Clare of Maryland; step-sister: Julie Wilson and husband, Marshall of West Virginia; step-brother, James Barr, Jr. and wife, Stacey of Virginia, and many other cousins and family members.
He is preceded in death by his father, Ellis L. Jones; his grandparents, Estel and Mildred Jones, Knowles M. Tucker and Aline Segura Tucker.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be his uncles, Patrick Tucker, John Tucker, William Tucker and Michael Tucker.
The family suggests memorials in Stephen’s name may be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 204 Patton Ave., Shreveport, LA 71105.
