Stephen Elliot Koffman, 83, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away peacefully on December 13th, 2025.

Stephen was born in Kansas City, Missouri, to David and Dorothy Koffman on August 15, 1942. He attended Shawnee Mission East High School, graduating in 1960. Stephen enlisted in the United States Air Force Reserves on December 31, 1963, serving as a basic airman and was honorably discharged in 1964. After his service, he worked in the retail industry as a manager at Dolgins. Stephen was a lifelong member of Kehilath Israel Synagogue. He enjoyed volunteering for the Peter Marshall Celebrity Golf Tournament and cheering on his favorite NFL team, the Kansas City Chiefs. He was known for his acts of service, often helping people in his community by driving them to appointments. Stephen was also involved with the Richard Block Cancer Support Group.

Stephen was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, and friend. He touched the lives of many with his kindness and generosity.

He is survived by his daughter, Gayle Ann Koffman of Chicago, Illinois; his niece, Amy Nelson Davidson of Arizona; his nephew, Bret Nelson of Arizona; his great-nephews, Jeremy and Tyler Davidson of Arizona; his great-niece, Sophia Nelson of Pennsylvania; his great-nephew, Landon Nelson of Arizona; and his best friends, Don Shields of Overland Park and David Boner of Texas.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandy Babendure Koffman; his father, David Koffman; his mother, Dorothy Koffman; and his sister, Francie Koffman Nelson.

A private burial will take place at Kehilath Israel Synagogue Cemetery, officiated by Rabbi Grussgott of Kehilath Israel Synagogue. Arrangements are being handled by Louis Memorial Chapel.

I will miss you Mr. Stephen. I will always be your own personal chef. I will miss walking through the doors of SPARC and seeing your smiling face, as you wave your hand for me to come and talk with you, whether it be to tell me what you need me to cook for you or just to listen to you talk about you amazing journey. It was a pleasure and blessing to serve you, sir. Your personal chef and friend, Stacy
