Arthur V. Koffman

Arthur V. Koffman "Artie", a devoted father, proud Army veteran, and lifelong lover of the game of golf, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026 at the age of 87.
Artie was born in Jackson Heights, Queens on November 30, 1938. He graduated Seton Hall Preparatory School in South Orange, NJ in 1956 and served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1961-1964. He was stationed in Korea and Japan as a Private and earned an Expert Level US Army Marksmanship Qualification Badge Rifleman. Following his discharge from the Army, he finished college at Seton Hall University, where he graduated in 1965.
He then became a Probation Officer for the State of New Jersey in Essex County, where he lived and worked for over 30 years before retiring and moving to Toms River, NJ in 2007.
A passionate lover of history, especially British Monarchy and American Civil War, he could spend hours reading, visiting historic sites, and sharing stories and insights with anyone willing to listen. His appreciation for history was not just about the past, but about understanding people, choices, and the lessons that endure across generations.
When not spending time with family, Artie could often be found on the golf course. Golf was more than a hobby; it was his sanctuary. He loved the challenge of the game, the quiet of the fairways, and the camaraderie it brought. Some of his happiest moments were spent walking the course, sharing stories, and enjoying a well-struck shot.
Artie is survived by his wife, Teddi (Theodora Dorina), daughter Doreen Pace and son in law Larry Pace.
He will be remembered for his strength, his sense of duty, his love of the game, and most of all, for the love he gave so freely as a father. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the values he instilled.
