Stephen Lauerman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Murfreesboro Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Jan. 25, 2025.
Stephen "Cole" Lauerman, Jr, 37, of Cookeville, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on January 20, 2025, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Born on April 7, 1987, in Memphis, Tennessee, Cole brought boundless love and light to everyone who knew him.
Cole was a devoted husband, father, son, and friend whose joy for life left an indelible mark on all who crossed his path. He found his greatest purpose in his family, cherishing every moment with his loving wife, Katie Kinnaird-Lauerman, and their two sons, Jack (3) and Lucas (9 months). He found endless joy in every moment with his boys, from their laughter to their newfound curiosities, cherishing the ways they filled his life.
Cole's generous and vibrant spirit shone through in his love of life, his sincere kindness, and his ability to make those around him feel valued and supported.
Cole is survived by his loving wife, Katie; their cherished sons, Jack and Lucas; mother, Karolyn Lauerman of Cookeville; grandmother, Vella Whitney of Harrison, Arkansas; step-grandmother, Elizabeth G. Lauerman of Fernandina, Florida; and a large, loving extended family, including in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, as well as countless friends who became family. He was preceded in death by his father, Stephen Cole Lauerman Sr.; his sister, Alexis Lauerman; his grandfathers, William D. Lauerman and Max Pendergraft; his grandmother, Mary M. Lauerman; his step-grandfather, Kenneth Whitney.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church, located at 20 N Dixie Ave, Cookeville, TN. The service is open to the public and the family would be honored for anyone who wishes to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Cole's memory can be made to support Katie, Jack, and Lucas. Contributions are accepted through a GoFundMe set up for the family, at any Wilson Bank & Trust location, or at the Highlands Elite Real Estate office in Cookeville.
Though Cole's time here was far too short, his legacy lives on in the love and memories he shared with others. His light will remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
