Henry J Lauerman

Henry Joseph Lauerman Jr, age 88, passed away unexpectedly on December 25, 2024 after a short hospital visit. Henry was born on March 24, 1936 in Menominee MI to Henry Lauerman Sr and Ruth (Lamb) Lauerman. He was the middle of three children.
Henry attended local Catholic schools graduating from Lourdes High School in 1954. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1958 and obtained his graduate degree from New York University where he met his future wife, Jacquelyn (Jackie) Johnson. After graduation they moved to Portland Oregon where Henry worked for Meier & Frank Co. In 1963, they moved to Marinette where he eventually became President of Lauerman Brothers Department Store. After the store closed, he opened Lauerman Home Furnishings from which he never retired.
Henry served as President of the Marinette Chamber of Commerce in 1975. He was also a member of the Marinette Hospital Board, a director of First National Bank of Marinette, a member of TWI-CEEs, and a loyal longtime member of the Elks Club (61 years).
Henry and Jackie were world travelers and enjoyed visiting over 100 foreign countries across the globe. Henry also enjoyed spending time at his cabin near Stephenson Michigan where he hosted annual hunting groups as well as many family events and celebrations over the years. This was also where he would cut down the family's Christmas tree each year - which were always so big that he would cut at least four feet off the top!
Henry was preceded in death by his sister Betsy Klatt and is survived by his wife Jackie, his sister Dorothy Carden, his three children - Lynne LaRosa (Paul), Mark Lauerman (Geri) and Scott Lauerman (Donna), his four grandchildren - Rachael (Anthony) Kozinski, Chelsea (Brent) Verke, Tyler Lauerman and Ethan Elliott - and his three great grandchildren - Luca, Carson and Ezra.
Visitation will take place on Saturday January 4th, 2025, from 9:30 - 11:00 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 2735 Taylor Street in Marinette with a funeral mass at 11 am. Friends and family are invited to attend a luncheon immediately following in the parish hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the DAR Boys and Girls club.
