Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary - Allisonville Rd.Stephen E. Lewis, 82, of Fishers, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026 at Hamilton Trace of Fishers. He was born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana on February 6, 1944 to Robert and Velma (Dudenhoefer) Lewis.
Following his graduation from Valparaiso Law School, Steve was an attorney with the law firm of Haller & Colvin until his retirement in 2013. Throughout his career, he volunteered his time and talents. He was an active supporter of Concordia Lutheran High School, Valparaiso University, and numerous local churches.
In 2018, Steve was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Elaine. He loved her until the day he passed. He knew exactly what she wore on their first date (red sweater / black & white skirt) and they were a team from that point forward.
Steve also loved the lake. He spent summers there as a child and that love lasted his entire life. Whether boating, tinkering, or just being “at the lake,” it was his respite from the everyday stresses of life. He also enjoyed reading, the Chicago Bears (even before 1985), swapping cars in his “fleet,” and attending concerts with his daughter.
Steve is survived by his son, Matt (Esther) Lewis; daughter, Sarah (Kellard) Townsend; grandchildren, Rebecca Lewis, Gabrielle (Dagur) Lewis, Nathaniel Lewis, Garrett Townsend, and Marcella Townsend; and several nieces & nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Steve was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Lewis; and sister, Cynthia Havel.
Steve was a loving husband, wonderful father, and a good man. He was strong in his Lutheran faith and will be missed.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, with services at 1:00 pm, on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, in Fishers.
Memorial contributions may be made to Concordia Educational Foundation, 1601 St. Joe River Drive, Fort Wayne, IN 46805 (https://www.cadetslegacy.org/about/) or Cornerstone Lutheran Church, 4850 East Main Street, Carmel, IN 46033 (https://www.cornerstonelutheran.church).
