Stephen Masciovecchio

BUZZARDS BAY - Stephen Masciovecchio, of Buzzards Bay, was called home to God, surrounded by loved ones, in the early morning hours on Thursday, January 13, 2022 after an 8 month battle with lung cancer. He was 62. Steve was born in Dorchester and grew up in Weymouth, Ma. He graduated from Weymouth South High in 1976 and earned an Associate's Degree from Sylvania Technical Institute.
He was employed at Schneider Electric, formerly the Foxboro Co, as a Systems Engineer for the past 42 years. During his employment he did a lot of traveling, both domestic and abroad, where he enjoyed meeting new people and learning the unique cultures. Steve was full of life and enjoyed many hobbies, including gardening, fishing and of course metal detecting.
Steve loved spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Kelly and daughter, Jennifer Masciovecchio of Dorchester. He leaves his sister, Joanne Weiler widow of the late Allan Weiler of Pocasset, his sister Lynda Patts and her husband Kevin of Weymouth, and brother Joseph Masciovecchio Jr. and his wife Brenda of Weymouth. Stephen was the son of the late of Joseph Masciovecchio Sr. and Anna (DelRosso) Masciovecchio of Weymouth. He also leaves many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visiting hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022 at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – WAREHAM, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
