Stephen C. Ozog Sr.

1964 - 2024

Stephen C. Ozog, Sr., 59, of Rome, passed away on Thursday, February, 15, 2024, at the Abraham House of Rome. He was born in Utica on April 24, 1964, a son of the late Carl and Shirley (Kania) Ozog. On June 20, 1986, he was united marriage to Leigh A. Holewinski. She passed away on November 25, 2018.

Stephen installed pools for OJ Gulla and Acme Pool and Spa for over 40 years.

He was an avid fan of the NY Yankees and Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Stephen loved his salt water aquarium and collection of old swords. He always looked forward to spending time with family and friends.

Stephen is survived by a son, Stephen Ozog, Jr. (Marie); two sisters, Sharon Ozog and Kelly Cardea (Tom); a brother, Kris Carey (Julie); his father, Kenneth Carey (Dorothy); a granddaughter, Leona; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Susan Force.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 2nd, at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Episcopal Church, 140 W. Liberty St., Rome NY 13440. There are no calling hours.
