Stephen Patenaude Obituary
Stephen R. Patenaude of Melrose, Massachusetts passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 after a brief and unexpected illness. He leaves behind his adoring wife Allison (née Goodwin), his son, Nathan, and his daughter, Morgan. Stephen was the son of Linda and Robert Patenaude and brother to Matthew (Jeanette) and Daniel (Kelci).
He also leaves behind his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and a nephew as well as countless friends whose companionship has been an integral part of Stephen's life. Stephen was raised in Everett, Massachusetts. He graduated from Salem State University and received his master's degree in education from Walden University. He was proud to teach in the Everett School District for the past nineteen years, most recently in the 5th grade. Outside the classroom, Stephen was a successful real estate agent with Century 21 North. For over 10 years, he proudly helped many families find their forever homes.
Despite his all too brief time with us, Stephen enjoyed traveling with Allison, spending time on Moose Pond in Bridgton, Maine, hosting friends and family for a casual home cooked meal with a great curated playlist, as well as many trips to the "Happiest Place on Earth" with his family. Stephen was a devoted Boston sports fan, but more recently preferred spending time with his daughter on the softball field and with his son playing adaptive soccer.
Stephen will also be remembered as a fierce advocate for the Autism community. This is a path he pursued as he witnessed his son's tremendous achievements.
As an organ donor, Stephen was generous to the very end, saving several lives with his final gift. He will be missed by his family and friends everyday as his legacy lives on through his children.
Services will be private.
