Mr. Stephen George Payzant, of Braintree and Naples FL, died unexpectedly on December 11, 2024.
He was the devoted son of Alice (Tirrell) Payzant and Paul Payzant. Stephen was a graduate of Braintree High School, Class of 1968, where he played on the basketball team. After high school he married Veronica "Ronnie" Quercia, his high school sweetheart. Their children and grandchildren were raised in their hometown of Braintree. When Stephen was not working many hours at his own cleaning company, he and Ronnie spent countless weekends camping with their children in Maine on the lake.
They continued that camping tradition with their grandkids where Stephen passed down his love for boating and water sports. He loved the outdoors, walking, riding his bike, and cruising the lake in his pontoon boat. Stephen and Ronnie spent much of their retirement time in Naples, FL where they met loving friends to enjoy their time with. In addition to being an avid Boston sports fan, especially the Celtics, Stephen loved the game of golf. He spent many years golfing with friends and family. He was one of the original members of the ISGA golf league where he met many fellow lifelong golf friends.
Beloved husband of 54 years to Ronnie Payzant.
Loving father of Keith Payzant and his wife, Susanna, Stacey Ballerino and her husband, Christian, and Todd Payzant and his wife Lauren, all of Braintree.
Grandfather of Abigale and her fiance, Zak, Madison, AJ, Stephen, Jared, Domenic, Sean, Luke, and Cole. Brother of Leslie Wheeler and her husband, Henry, the late Robert Payzant, and Wayne Payzant. Brother-in-law of Frank Quercia and his wife, Tum. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Stephen was loved greatly and will be missed forever.
