Arlene DeSantis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cartmell-Davis Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc. - Main Office on Mar. 4, 2026.
Arlene E. DeSantis, 74, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 28th, at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Plymouth.

She was the devoted wife of over 50 years to Frederick J. DeSantis, Jr. Loving mother of Kimberly Eacobacci and her husband Edward of Bourne, and Deanne Pettinelli and her husband Richard of Kingston. Cherished grandmother of Shaun Griffin and his wife Francesca of Hopedale. She was the beloved sister of Thomas Sullivan, Jr., Ann Jordan, Peter Sullivan, and the late Roger Sullivan and Edward Sullivan. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Born in Dorchester on October 23, 1951, Arlene was the daughter of the late Thomas D. and Muriel A. (Rogers) Sullivan. She grew up in Dorchester and moved to Braintree at the age of 17, where she graduated from high school. Fred and Arlene met in Quincy and later moved to Plymouth to raise their daughters, where they had 40 years of happy memories. Arlene also dedicated over 20 years of her career to Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Arlene had a passion for riding her Harley and was a proud member of the Harley Owners Group. She and Fred were also active members of Rolling Thunder, making the annual ride to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. each year in honor of those who served.

Arlene loved to travel and created treasured memories in Italy, Ireland, Florida, Tucson, and throughout the Caribbean. During the summer months, she could often be found enjoying her favorite place - relaxing on the beach. She was also an avid fan of New England sports and rarely missed cheering on her home teams.

Arlene will be remembered for her love of family, her adventurous spirit, and the joy she brought to those around her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A service will take place at the Cartmell-Davis Funeral Home, 373 Court St. (NORTH) Plymouth, on Saturday, March 7th, at 12:00 pm. Followed by a visitation till 3:00 pm. Due to weather, burial at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Plymouth, will be delayed.

My beloved only sister will be sorely missing by our entire family! We kept in touch throughout the years, she was always there for me. My parents were so very proud of her devotion to family and her level headed responsible attitude. Growing up in a large family and having three older brothers she tried to be the peacemaker, but more often than not took the brunt of their wild shenanigans!
` Let´s get Sister !! ` She wasn´t even called by her name, simply Sister.
So I am deeply saddened to loose her so soon to say the least. See you in the afterlife Sis
