Stephen Peterson passed peacefully on August 11, 2025. He was born on December 22, 1949, in Webster, South Dakota, to Gust and Clara Peterson, the youngest of five children. In 1951, his family moved to Ogden, Utah, where he attended Ben Lomond High and Weber State University. It was in Utah that his ministry and calling took root, shaping the path of his life and service to others.

Pastor Steve, as he was affectionately known, served faithfully for decades as the senior Pastor of Victory Christian Fellowship. He carried a deep conviction for God’s healing power through prayer. He preached the Word boldly, stood for it with unshakable faith, and believed it with all his heart until his last breath. To him, miracles and healing weren’t just fairy tales; they were living proof of God’s goodness and faithful love, which created some of his most powerful testimonies.

His ministry extended far beyond the church doors—including outreach to the homeless, broadcasting on radio and television, and sharing personalized messages that touched the hearts of everyone who received them. Showcasing his shepherd heart, infectious charisma, and loving spirit that reached far beyond the pulpit, sharing his vast knowledge of the written word, so others could be filled with hope, faith, and the love of Jesus.

Never did his light shine brighter than in his role as a father to his two children, Aundrea and Nathanael, and as a husband to his beloved wife of forty years. To say he was devoted to family seems like an overused cliché, but never has a word been more fitting to describe a person. His family was and will always be his greatest love, achievement, and legacy.

He wasn’t just a dad, a Pastor, or a husband; he was a rock people clung to in difficult times and a man of God .

He is survived by his wife, Joni, and their two children, Aundrea and Nathanael, who carry on his love and his faith.
