Lord & Stephens Funeral Home - EastSteve Pierce, age 66, passed away on January 21, 2026.
Born in Blackshear Georgia, he was the son of William Tracy Pierce and Yang Ming Pierce. In his free time Steve enjoyed getting outdoors and hiking to waterfalls with his wife and sometimes friends, travel, playing computer games, and reading. For many years he and Kathy were active in the Society of Creative Anachronism, a medieval recreation organization. Steve had been quite active in his local church and local and International Christian mission work, having gone to Mexico, Brazil, El Salvador, Jordan, and Guatemala on such trips. Much of his professional life was in computers, including software and web design, and help desk work. However, in recent years Steve worked for a Mission agency and as the Mission Director at Living Hope Church in Athens.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Kathy, his mother Ming Pierce, and his sisters, Monique Cocanougher, Tina Shallenberger, and Janine Cannon, their spouses and families.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, William Tracy Pierce.
A Memorial service will be held Friday, March 6, 2026,12:00 PM, at Living Hope Church, in Athens, GA. (2150 Lexington Road, Athens, GA 30605)
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Living Hope Church (livinghopeathens.org) or Perspectives USA (perspectives.org)
