Stephen Joseph Powell, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on December 30, 2025, at Good Samaritan Hospital. Born on April 29, 1948, Stephen's life was a testament to love and dedication, both to his family and to his community.

Stephen proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army and was a Vietnam War Vet. His commitment to service extended beyond his military career as he volunteered at the Indiana Military Museum, honoring his fellow veterans and sharing their stories with future generations.

He is survived by his loving wife, Vicki Powell, and their two daughters, Alissa Hurt and Megan Jennings. His heartfelt legacy continues through his grandchildren: Eli Hurt, Walker Jennings, and Rylee Jennings, whom he adored and cherished. Stephen is also survived by his sister Suella (Mike) Southard and half-brothers Danny and Lee Lambert. He was preceded in death by his parents Ophel and Madelyn.

Stephen was known for his loving spirit and unwavering support for those around him. He was immensely proud of his community involvement and cherished his role in his church, where he actively engaged with friends and neighbors alike.
