Stephen Lee Rigell, 53, of Wylie, Texas, passed away on December 23, 2024.
Stephen was born on May 13, 1971 in Nacogdoches, Texas to Milton Lee Rigell and Linda Carol Johnson Rigell. Accepting Christ at the age of 8, his faith remained a strong influence for the remainder of his life. Stephen graduated from Garrison High School in 1989 and went on to shape his career working at such companies as JCPenney, Yahoo, Austin Industries and Balfour Beatty Construction.
Stephen was deeply committed to his family and friends and expressed his affection with humor. He could make anyone laugh with the mischievous gleam in his eye, his quick wit, and a love of practical jokes. A kid at heart, Stephen had a fondness for Legos, Dr. Pepper, and the 1980’s pop culture references of his youth.
Stephen married the love of his life, Sherry Lynn Thomason, on May 25, 1996. In the life they built together in the twenty-eight years that followed, Stephen’s most cherished roles were that of a husband and father.
Stephen is survived by: his wife, Sherry Thomason Rigell; daughters, Shelby Hope Rigell, Kailee Grace Rigell; and mother, Linda Carol Rigell; as well as extended family. Stephen is preceded in death by his father, Milton Lee Rigell.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
