Stephen Saul Obituary

Published by Legacy on Apr. 18, 2023.
Stephen J. Saul, Jr., 32, left for Heaven's shores after a fearless battle with cancer, Friday, April 14, 2023, while surrounded by his loving family. From the moment Stephen was born he was a blessing and a marvel to his entire family. The cherished firstborn of Stephen J. and Karen A. (Schofield) Saul, Stephen's innate strength and will grew from a warrior's heart. Beloved grandson of Harold T. and Laraine M. Schofield, Joan M. DeMasi and the late Herbert Saul, protective big brother to Michael J. Saul and Bethany A. Saul, and endlessly loved by his aunts, uncles, and cousins; Stephen's heart encompassed them all.
He was a true renaissance man with the old soul of a dreamer and a fearlessness that led him to victory. Stephen's indomitable belief that one should be true to one's self allowed him to excel wherever his heart took him. Stephen's unmatchable confidence and talents in singing, acting, and dancing evolved to a professional career in entertainment. An avid sportsman, Stephen's early years as a soccer and three-time undefeated state wrestling champion combined with his above-average abilities whether skiing, snowboarding, or surfing, helped him become a skilled certified personal trainer. A graduate of LaSalle Academy, Stephen polished his love of writing, creating fantastic worlds with both his words and artistic talents throughout his adult years. Additionally, Stephen graduated from MTTI with an HVAC certification and worked for FedEx.
But it is his appreciation for simple pleasures - trips to the zoo, a good chicken parmesan, ice cold lemonade, the ocean, a jog in the park, a great movie, all things Superman and Dragon Ball Z, family cornhole games, and basketball played on any court in the TriTown area (and beyond) - that reveal his inner heart along with a pure love for his family and any time spent with them.
Spirit undefeated, Stephen knew that "God had his back" and there is no doubt that he is entertaining the heavens with his quick wit and oh-so-deep, melodious voice. Stephen was a confident and calm warrior in his earthly life and is now a brave and compassionate soldier in the army of God. One of a kind, in its truest form, epitomizes Stephen; he is irreplaceable. We will miss his fierce competitiveness and equally fierce love of family, highlighted by his stories, his one-liners, and the way he could always make us laugh. We will long for Stephen's too-strong hugs, holding his hand, and his inimitable way of always saying, "I love you," until we see and embrace him once again.
His funeral will be held Thursday, April 20, 2023, at 8:30am from the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Chapel, 643 Putnam Pike, Greenville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in the Cathedral of SS Peter & Paul in Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation Wednesday from 4-8pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Caroline Caprio Scholarship Giving Fund 3284 West Shore Road, Warwick RI, 02886 or RI Brain & Spine Tumor Foundation, P.O. Box 9201, Warwick, RI 02889 will be appreciated.
