Stephen Robert Schenck, born in Ohio and a longtime resident of Lucas, Texas, passed away on October 5, 2025 from a heart attack. A devoted father, grandfather, veteran, and innovator, Stephen lived a life marked by service, curiosity, and compassion.

He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, demonstrating a deep commitment to his country. After his military service, Stephen built a distinguished career at Texas Instruments, where he earned multiple patents for computer processes. He held a master's degree from Southern Methodist University and was known for his sharp intellect and inventive spirit.

Stephen found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He raised goats on his small farm and had a fondness for unique vehicles, including his beloved Covair '66 and Porsche. He shared memorable moments with his daughter, teaching her to drive a stick shift and navigating the quirks of farm life-including a runaway trailer wheel that became a family story.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda Schenck, in 2015; his brothers; Gerald and David; his sister; Clare; and his parents, Marie and Richard. He is survived by his daughter; Debra , son; Kenneth, and granddaughter; Erica, who carry on his legacy of kindness and curiosity.

Stephen will be honored with a funeral service at the DFW National Cemetery on October 28, 2025, at 11:15 AM, with military honors.

His big heart and generous spirit touched many, and he will be missed.
