Stephen E. Stamates, 72, of Florence and Buffalo, New York died on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Stephen was born on September 27, 1951, in Buffalo, New York to Eugene George and Maryann F. (Koscielniak) Stamates. He was an AGV Tender for the Ford Motor Stamping Plant, Woodlawn, NY, retiring after 33 years of service.
He also was a member of the Carriager’s Social Club, West Seneca, NY; the American Legion Post # 4, Florence; the Old Bastard’s Club, Franklinville, NY and the Moonlight Hunting & Fishing Club, Burlington, KY.
Stephen was preceded in death by a son, Travis Stamates; his parents, Eugene G. and Maryann Stamates; and a brother, Timothy Stamates.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen (Schwab) Stamates; brother, Mark Stamates; sister-in-law, Susan Stamates; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life party will be held in 2024. An updated notice will be posted once it is scheduled.
Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Erlanger is serving the family.
Memorial contributions in Stephen’s memory are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
