Mr. Stephen “Steve” Bruce Harris, 71, of Winston-Salem, NC passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2025. Steve was born March 27, 1954 in Birmingham, AL to the late Doris Clements Harris and the late William Louis Harris. He was a member of Home Moravian Church in Winston-Salem, NC. Steve was a golf professional and teacher for many years and retired as a Class A Teaching Professional with the PGA. He was named in the top 100 teaching professionals in Golf Week. Steve established the first indoor/ outdoor golf teaching facility at Greensboro National Golf Club in Summerfield, NC. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Barbara Martin Harris; one daughter, Jenny Harris Waddell (Daniel); one son, Jason Harris (Ashley); two grandchildren, Peyton Elizabeth Harris and Palmer Elaine Harris; a niece, Ashley Martin Gott; a nephew, Douglas Scott Martin and a sister-in-law, Kathryn Fox Martin.
There will be a time to celebrate Steve’s life from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 2, 2025 at the Robert F. Miller Center at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, 3315 Silas Creek Pkwy., Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
