Stephen Boone Wallace, born March 16, 1949, in Baltimore, Maryland, passed away on January 30, 2026.
Stephen was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Bette Combs, and the love of his life, his wife, Barbara Lenore Wallace. Their reunion brings comfort to those who loved him deeply.
He is survived by his three sons, David, Patrick, and Chris Wallace, and his cherished grandchildren, Ashley, Aurora, Ricky, Autumn, Amanda, Abigail, and Sander. Stephen was also a proud and devoted great-grandfather to Croix, Daxton, Oden, and baby girl Ruiz, each of whom brought him immense joy.
Stephen dedicated 46 years of honorable service to the United States Air Force, serving through multiple deployments, including Vietnam and Panama. He concluded his distinguished career with the 148th Fighter Wing at Duluth Air National Guard Base. His service was marked by commitment, resilience, and pride in serving his country.
Beyond his military career, Stephen was a lifelong learner. He graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth, earning a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and Philosophy, a reflection of both his practical mind and thoughtful spirit.
After the passing of his wife, Stephen found joy in simple pleasures. Such as spending time at local gun clubs, sharing meals, and going on adventures with his grandchildren, who were the light of his later years. He was a steady presence, a storyteller, and a man whose love for family never wavered.
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 16, 2026, Stephen’s birthday, at Black Woods Grill & Bar, located at 195 US Hwy 2, Proctor, Minnesota 55810. Time is to be determined. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor a life lived with devotion, strength, and love.
600 E. Second Street, Duluth, MN 55805
