Stephen Wills Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Curlew Hills Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Aug. 9, 2024.
Stephen David Wills, known affectionately as Steve to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2024 from his battle with frontal temporal dementia, in Palm Harbor, FL, at the age of 70. Born on February 5, 1954, in Sidney, OH, Steve was a beacon of love and friendship to all who knew him.
Steve spent his career at Advent Health Hospital, where he was a dedicated maintenance worker. His colleagues knew him as a man who could fix anything, and his helpful nature made him a beloved figure within the hospital community. His work was not just a job but a way to ensure a safe and functioning environment for those in need of care.
Beyond his professional life, Steve was a family man through and through. He is survived by his loving wife, Jean Wills; his son, Larry Wills; and his daughters, Christina Clarkson and Dianne Lidstone. Steve's role as a husband and father was where he shone brightest, providing unwavering support and embodying the virtues of patience, kindness, and humor.
Steve's zest for life was evident in his everyday interactions. He was a man who loved life and his family above all else. His ability to light up a room with his friendly demeanor and vivacious personality made him an indispensable part of his family's lives and the community.
Those who had the pleasure of knowing Steve will remember him as a loving, witty, and friendly individual. His legacy of warmth and generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends. Steve's life was a testament to the power of positivity and the impact one person can have on the lives of many. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished in our memories.
"God saw you were getting tired, a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around you and whispered, "Come to Me". With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best." Love and miss you. Your loving family.

Oh Steve how I will miss you dearly. You were always the fun brother that made me laugh a lot. You had such a fun sense of humor and it was very contagious to everyone around you. I am happy and sad about your passing. I am sad because you are gone, but happy that you are no longer suffering and in pain. I remember when you and Jean first introduced Mike and I to the Clearwater Central Catholic Bingo Hall for the first time. We could go and pick out our cards out of a bin instead of the dobbers they use now. It was so much fun. I remember all of our Christmas exchanges at mom and dad's almost every year. Bringing the family together with good food and watching football games, especially Notre Dame. All the Christmas music that dad and mom use to play at the house. Mike and I remember all the picnics we used to have with all the kids when they were younger. They all played baseball and frisbee at the park and then grilling hamburgers and hot dogs and all the food was delicious. Going to all the Ray games and watching them play baseball. I remember when we went to the horse races and us betting on the horse we thought would win. Dad, mom, you, Jean, and Mike and I all went and had so much fun. So many memories I remember through the years with you and the family. I remember going to Sunny's Barbecue and Mike nicknaming you cowboy for the first time. I Remember all the breakfasts we all went to at Bob Evans and Dennys with all the kids, grandma and grandpa Wills, and mom and dad. I will always cherish all these moments with you and many more. All of our 4 kids still look back on all the memories, being with all their cousins and grandparents. They all remember all of the fun times they had through the years. You will always carry a big piece in my heart forever Steve. Say hi to Robin, Mark, mom, dad, and all of our grandparents and loved ones up in Heaven for me. Until we meet again, I will always love you to the moon and back! Your loving sister Mary and brother-in-law Mike
