Arthur M. Borham, age 82, of Dunedin, Florida passed away on February 11, 2026. He was born in New York, New York and grew up in the city. He graduated from Andrew Jackson Public High School in Cambria Heights in 1961. He traveled upstate for college at SUNY Brockport and graduated in 1965 with a Bachelor of Science in Education. He began a career as a high school math teacher and earned his Master of Arts Degree in Mathematics at Adelphi University. While teaching, Art was introduced to a fellow teacher, Nancy, who captured his heart and became his wife of 59 years. They taught together in the Commack school system in Long Island and bought their first home and started their family in Rocky Point, Long Island, New York.
In 1975, Art and Nancy moved their young family to Dunedin, Florida where Art began a new career as a financial advisor. After initial training and the work of building a clientele, Art found his vocational calling, enjoying a decades long career as a financial advisor and manager at Merrill Lynch. He managed the corporate office in Countryside and finished his career at the office in Coral Springs. Art appreciated his work for bringing together his ever-growing interest in finance and his enjoyment of meeting and helping clients. Many clients and colleagues became lifelong friends.
Outside of work, Art enjoyed playing tennis. Tennis provided a way to exercise while also bringing people together. He was first exposed to the sport at a camp for children with diabetes he worked at during his college years. Once he moved to Florida, he picked up the game in earnest, first with neighborhood friends at the Dunedin Community Center and then at Countryside Country Club with countless social games, and more competitive leagues and tournaments. Art also introduced the game to his family and loved playing mixed doubles together. Whenever he and Nancy moved, they would look for a club to join and enjoy together.
Another lifelong pursuit for Art was his interest in travel. His first trip as a young adult out of New York State was a road trip with college friends driving a professor's car from NY to CA. His first time on an airplane out of state was his honeymoon trip with Nancy to Jamaica. Those early trips gave him a sense of how much more of the world there was to see. So once established in his work, Art planned travels every chance he could. There were many trips with Nancy and many with dear friends. Cruises were a favorite way to travel for sharing time with other people and Art made some dear friends while traveling. Art also loved planning trips with his kids and grandkids. He delighted in exploring new places alongside them and was able to travel with them all over the US and many countries, including cruises to Bermuda and the western Caribbean, Denmark, Estonia, Russia and even Japan.
Art was known for his friendliness and sense of humor. He enjoyed the camaraderie of conversation, and he loved making jokes and creating puns. He closely followed professional and collegiate sports, always loyal to his hometown teams and cheering for the underdogs. But more than the games themselves, he enjoyed sharing the experience and being a fan alongside his friends and family. This extended to cheering on kids and grandkids, always a number one fan at athletic fields and the theater stage.
Art is survived by his wife Nancy; his brother Richard Borham and his family; his daughter Danielle Borham Sallade and son-in-law Chris Sallade; his son Robert Borham and daughter-in-law Holly Kileff Borham; and his beloved six grandchildren: Lydia, Jeremy, and Laura Sallade and Marshall, Caroline, and Henry Borham. He is also survived by a special community of friends.
A service for Arthur will be held on Saturday, February 28th at Curlew Hills Memorial Gardens.
