Stevan Crompton Obituary

Published by Legacy on May 13, 2025.
Stevan Crompton, age 73, of Borup, MN, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025 at Essentia Health in Fargo, North Dakota.
Stevan Mark Crompton was born on November 21, 1951, in Ada, Minnesota, to Lawrence "Tommy" and Marian (Olson) Crompton. He graduated from Borup High School with the Class of 1969. Following graduation, he was drafted into the United States Army and served honorably in Germany.
After his military service, Steve returned to northern Minnesota, where he farmed alongside his father-raising hogs and growing small grains. In the 1980s, he began working as a commercial applicator for West Central in Ulen, a job he enjoyed until his retirement. Steve also served as the treasurer of Winchester Township for over 30 years, a role he took great pride in.
Steve had a passion for gardening and took pride in growing an abundant vegetable garden each year, generously sharing his harvest with family and friends. He loved spending time outdoors, especially chopping wood. During the winter months, he could often be found in the stands, cheering on his grandchildren at their many sporting events.
Steve is survived by his children: Derek (Erin) Crompton, Matt (Sarah) Crompton, Casey Crompton, Dustin (Becky) Crompton, Heather Jo Crompton, and Mark Crompton; 21 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; the mother of his children, Vickie Crompton; brothers: Shawn (Michelle) Crompton, Timmy Crompton, and Shane (Angie) Crompton; and many nieces and nephews.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Cheryl Clark.
