Stephen Andrews (Steve) was born May 27, 1948 in Hastings, NE to Neil and Donna Mae (Marymee) Andrews. He was baptized at Bladen United Methodist Church in April 1949 and confirmed his faith in May 1961. He graduated from Bladen High School in 1966. He was united in marriage to Ann Niemeyer on March 4, 1967 at Bladen United Methodist in Bladen, NE. Together they were blessed with two children, Jody and Brett. They made their home in various midwestern states, but predominantly in Dawson and Montevideo, MN and Sheldon, IA.
Steve spent the majority of his adult life in the grain business beginning at his father’s grain elevator in Bladen, NE and retiring from AGP as a grain merchandiser in 2012. He was proud of his 27 years of service with AGP.
Steve was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who filled his time with family, golfing, game shows, and “witty” humor. His grandchildren will always remember watching Jeopardy and playing checkers together. Brady and Blake enjoyed summers on the golf course learning the game from grandpa. Another fond memory that his grandchildren will always treasure is grandpa’s famous malts.
Steve was a member of the Dawson Lions Club and volunteered his time as a faithful member of the United Methodist Church in Montevideo. He often reminisced with his family about his volunteer work restoring the Opera House in Bladen, NE.
He is survived by his children, Jody (Michael) Olson of Sheldon, IA and Brett (Jayann) Andrews of Montevideo, MN; grandchildren Kayla (Tim) Ullman, Chelsey Olson, and Brady, Blake, and Callie Andrews; brothers, Brad and Scott Andrews; and numerous extended family and friends.
Steve was preceded in death by his wife, Ann; his parents, and his brother, N. Bryant Andrews, Jr.
