Steve Wayne Ferree, 63, passed away September 7, 2023. He was born on January 12, 1960 in Sullivan to Carolyn (Hoffeditz) Wilson. He worked at Woodco Walls for about 30 years. He also worked for Vigo County Animal Control and Vigo County Dispatch. Steve enjoyed campaigning for different politicians. He loved shopping for antiques and loved his dogs, Doberman Pinscher, Poodle, Pitbull, and Schnauzer.
He is survived by his sister Carla Wilson, brothers Ronnie Wilson (Angela) and Joseph Wilson (Jamie), aunt Cheryl Everly, uncle Ray Hoffeditz (Cyrena), nieces and nephews, Ashley "Nikki" Urbain (Jeremey), Joseph Wilson (Ashley), Brittany Wilson, Cody Wilson; great nieces and nephews, Malakai Urbain, Ayden Urbain, Trevin Urbain, Ryker Urbain, Brynlee Urbain, Braylee Wilson, Kyden Wilson, Coby Bell, Livy Bell, and JJ Hall; and many cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father Chester Wilson, mother Carolyn Wilson, brothers David Wilson and James Wilson, aunt Joan Higar (Bill), uncles Melvin Hoffeditz (June), Sam Hoffeditz (Ruth), and Zeke Hoffeditz (Maryjean); and cousins Don Hoffeditz, Greg Hoffeditz, and Mike Higar.
A visitation will be held Saturday, September 16th 2023 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Samaritan Funeral Home. A military honors service will be held at 3 pm at the funeral home. The family asks that donations be made towards funeral expenses. Online condolences may be made at www.samaritanfunerals.com.
