Steve Hale

Steven Ray Hale, age 71, of Berwind, West Virginia, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Steven was born February 4, 1953, in Welch, West Virginia, the son of the late Rudolph Hale and Trula B. Honaker Hale. He graduated from Big Creek High School and later worked in Coal Mines to support his family. He also worked as an insurance agent for many years in the area. Steven was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He dearly loved his little grandson and had looked so forward to being a grandfather. In his earlier years, he loved to garden with his wife. If ever there was a true die-hard WV Mountaineer fan, it was Steven. He literally bled gold and blue. He could be found in front of the Television whenever a WV game was on. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Carol Hale, and a brother, Gregory Darrell Hale.

The funeral service for Steven Hale will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Tazewell, Virginia, with the Rev. Dave Epperson officiating. Interment will follow at the Hartwell Cemetery on Canebrake Rd., in Berwind, West Virginia. Jackie Johnson, Shannon Dawson, David Smith, Judith McGinnis, Chuck Chambers, and Kim Dawson will be pallbearers. The Honorary Pallbearer will be Gerry Barton. The family begins receiving friends on Thursday at noon until the time of service.
