Hanston – Steve M. Jensen, 67, died January 29, 2026 at St. Catherine’s Hospital in Dodge City. He was born on July 7, 1958 at Kinsley, Kansas the son of Richard and Mildred (Fisher) Jensen.
The family moved to Dodge City in 1957 where Steve attended school. He worked for Jensen Floor cCovering as a floor covering installer. He then moved to Billings, Montana, where he worked as an installer with his brother Greg. Steve later moved back to Dodge City and went to work at Boot Hill Museum where he worked for 12 years. .
He is survived by his companion Shirley, his mother Mildred of Dodge City; one sister Deb Aton and husband Dan of Hutchinson; two brothers Greg Jensen and wife Connie of Billings, Montana and Jeff Jensen and wife Debbie of Hillsboro, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents Frank and Louise Jensen and Max and Frieda Fisher all of Kinsley.
Memorial service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Tuesday February 10, 2026 at 11:00 AM with Mr. Jeff Hiers presiding. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to Boot Hill Museum of the Donor’s Choice in care of the funeral home.
