Stephen Koltes, age 66, of Cottage Grove, Minnesota, passed away November 4, 2023, after suffering a heart attack. Steve, the youngest of ten children, was born to John and Magdaline (Ahles) on August 14, 1957, on a farm in Kimball, Minnesota.
Upon retirement in 2018 from Lockheed Martin, Steve’s favorite pastime was sharing his passion of fishing at his lake home on Goodners Lake. Steve had a beautiful bass singing voice and sang with multiple groups at the Church of St. Rita in Cottage Grove and a’CHOIR’d Harmony Community Choir. He was known for his willingness to assist in friends’ and relatives’ home projects, generosity and kindness.
Steve is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Lenora; his siblings, Mary (Jim) Molitor, Katherine Counter, Bill Koltes, Ann (Marv) Salzer, and Rose Culbertson. He was a loving and adored uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, John and Magdaline; and his siblings, Margaret, John, Mike, and Sister Louise Koltes.
Visitation 9:30 AM with Mass of Christian burial beginning at 11 AM, Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at the Church of St. Rita, 8694 80th St. S., Cottage Grove, Minnesota 55016. Private family interment at Cottage Grove Cemetery, Cottage Grove, Minnesota.
Memorial donations may be made to Church of St. Rita Cottage Grove Music Ministry.
