Steven "Steve" D. Labs, 50, of De Pere, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of generosity, conservation, and deep connection with the people and places he loved most.

A dedicated outdoorsman and conservationist, Steve lived a life rooted in purpose. He was the current president of the Izaak Walton League – Brown County Chapter, where he not only championed environmental stewardship but also mentored countless kids, sharing his deep love for nature, fishing, archery and the great outdoors. It was through the Izaak Walton League that Steve met the love of his life, Jodi - a connection that would blossom into years of adventure, companionship, and joy.

In recent years, Steve was truly living his dream - casting lines in waters near and far, traveling, attending live concerts (especially reggae and 80s rock bands), and spending time with Jodi. His spirit was magnetic - he never left a room a stranger. Whether on the shoreline or around a campfire, his warm smile, positive energy, and easy laugh were constants.

Steve's passions were many - conservation, fishing, hunting, family, music, community - but his greatest gift was how he made people feel. He gave without expecting, mentored with patience, and led with heart. He was a giver in the truest sense, and his impact will long live on.

He is survived by his wife Jodi, daughter; Tamara Arndt, stepchildren; Chris Challe, and Danielle Challe, parents; Don and Elaine Labs, his sister Susan (Sig) Kolano, niece Anya Kolano, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins , and friends.

Steve was preceded in death by his niece Ella Kolano, and grandparents; Ruben (Selma) Labs, and Leo (Eleanor Leiterman Jacobs) Leiterman.

Friends may call at Ryan Funeral Home 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere from 2:00PM Friday, September 12, 2025, until time of service at 6:00PM.
