Steve Larsen

With a life marked by ambition, charisma, love, and thoughtfulness, Steve Larsen departed this world on December 12, 2025, just shy of his 86th birthday. Born in Ogden, Utah, on December 19, 1939, as Julius Stephen Larsen, Steve was a devoted family man, a steadfast friend, and a committed servant of the Lord.

Steve's love for family and faith was evident in every aspect of his life. He embraced the world with an open heart and a bright smile, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him. He was a man of many talents and interests, from scouting where he earned the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout, to acting in Macbeth, and expressing his love for music through singing. He was also an avid reader, with a special fondness for rom-coms, mysteries, and spy thrillers. Despite the challenges life threw at him, Steve always chose to look on the bright side, offering his unwavering support to friends and family alike, and frequently turning to the scriptures in times of trial.

Steve's professional journey reflected his ambitious nature. He thrived in the world of Real Estate and Construction sales, retiring from the IRS in 2001. His charisma was evident in his leadership roles as the Jaycee President and Weber County Republican Chairman. However, his most cherished roles were those he served within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served as Bishop of the 6th Ward in Ogden, Stake President in Ogden, Utah, and fulfilled missions to Norway, Nigeria, and at Temple Square. As is beautifully captured in Matthew 5:16, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven," Steve's life was a testament to this verse.

Steve is survived by his children, Collette (Arun) Sengupta, Stephanie Larsen, David (Carrie) Larsen, Deena (Wayne) Butler, and Adam (Tia) Larsen, his sister Sue Hiatt, and Blair Larsen. He was preceded in death by his parents Julius and Laura Larsen, his brother Tom Larsen, his beloved wife Deanna Larsen, and his daughter Kristin Larsen.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 9:30 am at Myers Mortuary in Ogden, followed by funeral services at the same venue at 11:00 am.
